In September 1965, the director of the United Nations Meditation Group, Sri Chinmoy, suggested the idea of an international day of gratitude at the East-West Center in Hawaii. Each person from around the world in attendance pledged to hold a gratitude gathering in their respective countries on September 21st the following year. Since then, this international holiday has grown in appeal as more and more countries begin to recognize it.
At Mindsight, we like to show our gratitude by helping others. Our corporate social responsibility program hosts events multiple times a year giving our employees and opportunity to give back to their communities and make the Chicago area and the world that much better in the process.

Share Your Soles
Our most recent project was a shoe drive and volunteer day to benefit the Share Your Soles charity. Share Your Soles is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing free footwear to impoverished countries around the world. From the Caribbean to Africa to South America and beyond, Share Your Soles has donated over 2 million pairs of shoes. Mindsight was happy to be a part of that mission. Our own shoe drive raised approximately 250 pairs of shoes for the cause.

Hunger Games
In just a few short weeks we will be launching our fourth annual Hunger Games competition. The Hunger Games is an interoffice contest with activities aimed at combatting and raising awareness of food insecurity issues in Chicago and around the world. In the past we’ve volunteered at food banks, served meals at soup kitchens, and raised money for charities in our area. We’re looking forward to another fun and impactful Hunger Games to close out 2017.

Planting a Tree on Arbor Day
In April 2016, Mindsight planted a tree outside out office in honor of Arbor Day. The tree was a small Tulip Tree that still stands outside our offices today. We want to thank the building staff at the Esplanade Office Center for making this green effort possible.

Adopt-A-Highway
Mindsight has adopted and now maintains a small stretch of road not far from our offices. Through the Dupage Country Adopt-A-Highway program, Mindsight clears the road of trash and debris three times a year. Our adopted patch of Finley Road leads from Lacey to Warrenville Road in the West Chicago suburbs.
St. Baldrick’s
Over the years, Mindsight has hosted charity events to benefit St. Baldrick’s Foundation and their work in childhood cancer research. All our efforts, and with great thanks to our community sponsors, managed to raise $10,000 for the foundation.

Our Gratitude is Our Inspiration
World Gratitude Day inspires us to be a little more selfless, to think of others more often, and to appreciate what we have. We’d like to thank all of the charities we support throughout the year for the incredible work that they do. We’d also like to thank all Mindsight employees who take time out of their day to participate in these programs. They aren’t required of our team, and every year we find overwhelming support.
