As a Chicago-based IT consulting firm, Mindsight has a lot of reasons to be thankful. We are thankful for the innovation that propels our industry forward, the opportunities we have to help IT professionals be confident in their decisions, and most of all, the relationships we have with vendors, customers, and other IT professionals in the Chicagoland area. This year, we wanted to show the community our gratitude for letting us be a part of it by giving back so.
We decided to take part in a food drive supporting the Northern Illinois Food Bank. The food bank feeds 71,000 people in 13 Illinois counties each week. They rely on community involvement to help realize their vision of preventing hunger in Illinois. Having never hosted a food drive at Mindsight before, we wanted to start small and set our goal at 500lbs of food. That number equates to around 15 small boxes, which seemed very attainable. We split the entire company into teams and decided to make this a contest among groups. Fingers crossed for success, we set a deadline of three weeks and began our food drive.

The response from our associates was overwhelming. In the first week alone, we surpassed our goal of 500lbs! In fact, by the end of the third week, we collected 2,650 lbs of food for the Northern Illinois Food Bank.

Justine Kope, our newly-appointed food drive coordinator, was asked why she thought we were able to donate so much food. She said, “Our associates love giving back to the community and this food drive gave them the perfect opportunity to do so. That, paired with a healthy dose of friendly competition, enabled us to surpass our goal by 530%.” At Mindsight, we know how important our community is to us and there is nothing like giving back to truly show our gratitude.
Needless to say, the food drive was a roaring success. We are already planning our next event and hope to continue to give thanks to our community by giving back.
