Annual Roadmap Sneak Peek: Innovate Your Team Collaboration

August 22, 2017

On September 14, 2017 Mindsight will be hosting our biggest event of the year. Annual Roadmap 2017 is a full day conference with multiple sessions covering cutting-edge technologies across the technology industry. This event provides business executives and IT professionals with an excellent opportunity to peek over the horizon and explore the technologies, applications, and solutions that will be most impactful in 2018. Whether you are looking for a new team collaboration solution or just want to stay abreast of industry trends, Annual Roadmap will equip you with the information you need to succeed in the coming year.

Now, we’re releasing our third sneak peek interview with one of our session hosts. We’ve already met with Jason Wankovsky to discuss The Disaster Recovery Balancing Act and Kleid Gjataj to discuss The Customer Journey from Every Angle. This next interview is with our collaboration practice manager, Igor Nayshtut, who will be covering ways to innovate your team collaboration.

How to Get Rid of Email: Innovate Your Team Collaboration

Message. Meet. Call. The Extension of the Meeting

Cisco WebEx is a comprehensive collaboration solution that deserves a thorough explanation. In one sense, it can be seen as an application that combines multiple collaboration tools into a single platform. These tools are combined together to facilitate better communication and collaboration among your workforce.

On a practical level, this is true. It has many of the features that you might expect. It can send chat messages, host video meetings, share files, make calls, and organize projects. Yet, Cisco WebEx is more than the sum of its parts. It serves as a digital extension of the meeting.

Most projects begin with a planning or strategy meeting of some sort. At these meetings, goals are established and tasks are assigned to members of the team to complete before the team reconvenes. From there, the team disperses to work on their portion of the project. What happened to the meeting? Where did it go?

Now, any future questions, updates, or issues in the project are distributed through multiple collaboration applications. There will undoubtedly be some email threads, perhaps some chat conversations, phone calls, or informal conversations between the first and second meetings. WebEx offers a digital location where all of these inevitable communications outside the meeting can occur. This ensures that everyone stays on point and up-to-date on the meeting progress.

In effect, the meeting never really ends. The conversation on the Space can pick up right where the in-person meeting left off, and the team can be certain that every relevant file, message, and update is available and accounted for.

As the session will demonstrate, sometimes the best way to get rid of email is to find a better way to communicate.
